The first project task towards the development of our strategic cross-sectoral research and innovation roadmap is a socio-economic trends analysis. This study aims to provide an initial picture of market trends and consequently priority research topics that reflect the interests of the European consumer goods industry and in which researchers are pursuing in collaborative projects with the industry. PROsumer.NET Organises Thematic Workshops in Spain, Italy & Germany

Four thematic workshops dedicated to the 4 Strategic Research Themes of the project were held in Valencia (19/10) & Alicante (21/10)/Spain, Treviso/Italy (26/10) and Stuttgart/Germany (27/10). During these workshops expert input was collected for the socio-economic analysis and the technology state-of-the-art analysis which will eventually feed into an overall strategic roadmap for research and innovation in the European consumer goods industries.

1st Public PROsumer.NET Seminar, 22 June 2011, Brussels

The 1-day event featured a broad range of presentations from industry, leading researchers and the European Commission. The seminar follows in the footsteps of the 1st European Conumer Goods Research Conference organised by the same stakeholders in February 2010. The draft research and innovation roadmap resulting from this first event will be further developed in much more breadth and depth by the 2-years PROsumer.NET project.
This seminar prepared the ground for the roadmapping work of the PROsumer.NET pro-ject over the next 2 years and represented a first occasion to connect and network with industry and research experts from across several consumer goods sectors, also beyond those covered by the 5 involved technology platforms.

PROsumer.NET held its kick-off meeting on 10 June 2011 in Brussels

The kick-off meeting of the PROsumer.NET project was held on 10 June 2011 at the premises of Euratex, the project coordinator, in Brussels.

The meeting was attended by all 10 project partners coming from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal & Spain as well as the project officer from the European Commission.

The PROsumer.NET project is a coordination and joint roadmapping project bringing together 5 European Technology Platforms all related to the design-based consumer goods industry. The project initially covers the textile and clothing, the footwear, the sport goods and the forest-based sectors as well as the manufacturing technologies related to these industries.

The project is funded by the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme (FP7) under the theme Nanotechnologies, Materials and Production (NMP). The project duration is 2 years and the project is coordinated by Euratex, the European Apparel and Textile Confederation.
